Karma K9 has been a family owned and operated local dog training company for a decade here in Jacksonville, Florida.

Owners Middie and Melissa Alley are mother and daughter both with a passion for dogs and a history growing up around animals. Melissa had always wanted to work with dogs from a young age and decided to act on this passion when she enrolled in Sanford Brown Institutes Veterinary Tech program. There she learned all about health, nutrition, and safe practices for dogs that she now applies in her daily work here at Karma K9. Melissa has been training dogs for seven years and has been the head trainer at Karma K9 since.

Middie’s passion stems from rescuing dogs and horses in her youth and has continued to rescue over the course of her life.

She has been a small business owner for two decades and has lived in Jacksonville her whole life with her family. Between the two of them, they have a combined 12 dogs! Training Director Curtis Johnson joined the Karma K9 family four years ago after going to renowned dog training school Tarheel Canine Dog Trainer School where he received his Master Instructor/Trainer Certification.

Curtis has worked with dogs all across the training spectrum, including pet, police, protection, hunting, and military dogs.

He has been training dogs his whole life since developing the passion of working with rescues as a child. Growing up in Rhode Island and volunteering at the Humane Society pushed him towards where he is today.
